Six Mobile Health Units of the Ukrainian Red Cross Provide Primary Healthcare Services in Remote Communities in the Region of Prykarpattia
Each unit comprises a family doctor, nurses, and a driver, who visit communities with limited access to medical services. During these visits, the unit’s specialists:
- Consult and assess the health status of individuals.
- Measure blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood oxygen levels.
- Prescribe treatment regimens or provide referrals for consultations with specialized medical professionals.
- Dispense over-the-counter medications with general therapeutic effects to alleviate health conditions.
- In cases of critical conditions, facilitate the transportation of individuals to medical facilities.
In May, the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units provided 2,350 medical consultations in 102 settlements of the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
The operation of mobile health units in the region of Prykarpattia is supported by the Japanese Red Cross.
