In the Kherson Region, the Ukrainian Red Cross Operates the Home-Based Care Programme: Providing Assistance with Household Chores and Care for Lonely People

A team of 60 specialists from the Kherson regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross operates in 12 settlements across the region, including Kherson. They provide support and care for over 300 service users, primarily elderly individuals living alone who require assistance in their daily lives due to health reasons.

The beneficiaries of this programme also receive humanitarian aid and cash payments. In addition, we are planning to purchase rehabilitation equipment and hygiene products, which will soon be distributed to lonely elderly people in need.

All social assistants are specially trained and equipped with first aid and psychological first aid skills. They are also aware of the risks of mines and explosive ordnance.

Since the beginning of the year, social assistants have conducted over 11,000 visits to those in need and provided more than 93,000 different services, including cooking meals, cleaning homes, and purchasing and delivering food and medicines.
