Over 500 Elderly People Receive Humanitarian Aid in the Cherkasy Region

The elderly constitute a vulnerable group of the population. In addition to coping with chronic illnesses that can limit their mobility and make it difficult to carry out routine household chores, many often find themselves alone. Today, when the country is undergoing a full-scale invasion, with frequent air raids and sometimes explosions, the sense of isolation and the challenges people face are exacerbated. Recognising these hardships, the Ukrainian Red Cross extends its assistance to the elderly, providing them with attention, care, and support.

Recently, the Cherkasy city branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross organised an event to support the elderly residents of the Dakhnivka neighbourhood, an area particularly affected by flooding. During the event, volunteers informed people about the organisation’s activities and held information sessions on mine risk, psychosocial support activities, and basic first aid training for self-care and assisting others. Additionally, volunteers distributed humanitarian aid. Over 500 people received food parcels, blankets, sets of dishes, etc.

We stand by those in need.
