Work of Mobile Health Units in the Zaporizhzhia Region
In the Zaporizhzhia region, three mobile health units operated by the Ukrainian Red Cross provide primary healthcare services in remote settlements where access to medical facilities is limited.
The majority of visitors to these mobile health units are elderly individuals who, due to their health conditions, are unable to travel to the nearest medical facility for proper care. During the visits, specialists from the mobile health units conduct health examinations, provide consultations, measure vital signs such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood oxygen levels, prescribe treatment plans, or refer patients to specialised medical professionals for further consultation. In critical cases, the unit’s specialists facilitate transportation to medical facilities for advanced care.
