Volunteers of the Kostiantynivka City District Branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross Enhanced Skills in Providing Psychological First Aid
In a time when there is a daily threat of danger, shelling and frequent air raids, people feel stressed, tense, and anxious. Over time, stress can accumulate, leading to both psychological exhaustion and physical changes. Volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross, while providing humanitarian aid to people or responding to emergencies, often see people in a state of stress. In order to support people properly, it is important to be able to provide first psychological aid correctly.
Recently, the team of the Kostiantynivka city-district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross participated in a two-day training course on psychosocial support in emergencies. The new knowledge and skills gained in psychological first aid and psychosocial support will help volunteers and staff support people who are under stress.
