Training on International Humanitarian Law Held for the Ukrainian Red Cross Volunteers and Staff in Zaporizhzhia
It was conducted by a specialist from the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
During the training, the participants discussed the use and protection of the Red Cross emblem, as well as the principles of international humanitarian law (IHL).
IHL, also known as the law of war (jus in bello), is a set of rules aimed at limiting the humanitarian consequences of armed conflicts. Its main purpose is to restrict the means and methods of warfare and to ensure the protection and humane treatment of individuals who are not, or no longer, directly participating in hostilities.
