Seminars on Safety and Risk Management for Heads of Regional Branches and Interregional Offices of the Ukrainian Red Cross
Recently, the teams of the Ukrainian and Canadian Red Cross held two-day seminars on “Safety and Risk Management” for the heads of regional branches and interregional offices of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kyiv and Lviv.
The seminar covered the following topics:
- Implementation of a safety culture and management of safety issues in project activities;
- Basic safety principles and regulations;
- Emergency action plan and response to emergency situations;
- Security incidents;
- Risks and potential threats in the current activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross;
- Planning of field humanitarian activities;
- Basics of cybersecurity and data protection;
- Conflict of interest management and its resolution;
- Protection of gender equality and inclusion.
Safety is a crucial component of the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross staff and volunteers, as it entails protection from potential threats and the ongoing need for their management. The knowledge acquired at the workshop will complement the organisation’s existing experience in ensuring the safety of staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries in the current circumstances.
