The Ukrainian Red Cross Purchases and Installs a Water Filtration System for the Mykhailivska Special School in the Cherkasy Region
Almost 100 children studying at the Mykhailivska Special School faced a problem with the water quality in their school. Laboratory tests revealed significant deviations from the standards in the quality of the drinking water consumed by the students. In response to the school administration’s request, the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted a series of examinations and subsequently participated in enhancing the drinking water quality. This involvement included purchasing and installing a water filtration system in the school’s kitchen area.
The water filtration system was installed in the institution as part of the Access to Safe Water Project. This initiative is being implemented by specialists from the Recovery Unit of the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross in collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross.
It is worth noting that the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross has consistently supported and aided the Mykhailivska Special School. During their previous assistance efforts, the organisation provided the school with sleeping kits containing winter blankets, towels, pillows, and bed linen sets, along with sets of heating stoves. This assistance contributed to fostering a warm and cosy atmosphere within the school.
We stand by those in need.
