In Uman, Volunteers Conducted a Mine Awareness Session and First Aid Workshop for Students of a City Gymnasium
The event was organised in cooperation with the Uman district department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region. The team of the Uman city and district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross educated the students about mine risks, identifying explosive devices, and appropriate actions if they encounter them. Additionally, instructors introduced the students to first-aid algorithms and cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques.
Personnel from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine acquainted the schoolchildren with the profession of a first responder, showcasing firefighters’ equipment and gear. At the end of the meeting, attendees had the opportunity to learn about various types of fire extinguishers and their usage methods, ask questions, and practise their skills using training manikins.
