Two above-ground shelters, designed to protect people from shrapnel injuries, have been installed in the Vovchansk community of the Kharkiv region

The Vovchansk community is a border district of the Kharkiv region, which is among the most heavily affected areas in the region. Residents face constant risk due to frequent hostile shelling.

In April, the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, delivered and installed two reinforced concrete shelters in the community for the safety of local residents. One shelter has an area of 10 m² and is designed to accommodate 10 to 15 people at a time. These shelters protect people from shrapnel injuries caused by artillery shell explosions.
