Eighteen New Trainers Joined the Ukrainian Red Cross Psychological First Aid and Psychosocial Support Team

A week-long special session was held in Kyiv, during which participants underwent several stages of training:

  • Learning the methodology of training on psychological first aid and psychosocial support.
  • Practicing facilitation methods (conducting training, organising group sessions for adults).
  • Developing skills in conducting trainings.
  • Familiarization with basic concepts in the field of mental health and psychosocial support, providing constructive feedback, and emphasising the importance of self-care and teamwork.

The number of Ukrainians in need of support has significantly increased. The task of future trainers is to develop a team capable of providing timely and effective support to everyone who needs it. Thanks to the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the trainers will be able to teach psychological first aid and psychosocial support to volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross, as well as representatives of other organisations working with people or involved in emergency response.
