Ukrainian Red Cross Launches Second Series of Psychological First Aid Trainings for Ministry of Culture and Information Policy
The Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy (MCIP) and with the support of the State Arts Agency, conducted online training sessions for teachers of educational institutions in Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia.
This marked the start of the second series of training sessions on psychological first aid. The primary objective is to enhance teachers’ understanding of providing timely and appropriate psychological first aid, supporting students’ emotional well-being, identifying signs of acute or chronic stress in students, and promoting their own mental health and that of their colleagues. Participants learned not only how to provide support but also how not to harm the person even more.
The Ukrainian Red Cross implements activities under the #EU4Health programme with the support of the European Commission and the Danish Red Cross. The training is a component of the ‘Art of Helping’ project of the MCIP and the All-Ukrainian mental health programme ‘How Are You?’ initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska. Almost 140 participants took part in the first series of such trainings, which were held in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Kropyvnytskyi, and Lviv.
