In Kharkiv, at the Metrosadok Kindergarten, Ukrainian Red Cross Instructors Educate Children about Mine Risks
No child should have to risk their life and health while walking home from school, playing in the park, or on the playground. As long as Ukraine’s territory remains contaminated with mines, it is our duty to inform children about the threat of explosive items and explain how to stay safe.
Recently, an instructor from the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted a mine risk information session for children aged 6 and above at the Metrosadok kindergarten. The event was attended by six children’s groups, totalling about 100 children.
Children constitute a particularly vulnerable group as their curiosity or inattention can cost them their lives. Therefore, it is paramount for us to educate both children and their parents on the rules of mine safety.
