The First Pottery Event Was Held in Kamianets-Podilskyi as Part of the “Art for Stress Relief” Project
Kamianets-Podilskyi hosted the first pottery event as part of the Refugee Center – Art for Stress Relief project. The participants were children from families who had been forced to abandon their homes and settle in the Khmelnytskyi region.
Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers collaborated with Mykola and Olena Shevchuk’s pottery studio staff to organise the event. Clay therapy is a process that can help relieve stress, tension, anxiety and improve memory. That is why our team is dedicated to activities that promote the mental well-being of entire families. Since 2023, the Ukrainian Red Cross has been implementing the Refugee Center – Art for Stress Relief project together with partners from Sweden and Lithuania. The project offers art classes and active games for families in Ukraine, as well as in Lithuania and Sweden. These countries have become new homes for many Ukrainian families since the onset of the full-scale invasion.
The success of this activity was made possible through the collaboration of project partners including Lotten Svensson, YogaYou and Smart Step NGOs. Additionally, we received valuable assistance from the Department of Social Protection of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council.
