Lost Everything in Kherson Region: The Story of a Family Supported by the Ukrainian Red Cross

This elderly family lost everything they had earned over the years due to the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The journey from the left bank of Kherson region to northern Ukraine was difficult, dangerous, and long.

“We have been waiting for this house for a very long time, practically witnessing its construction, – says Tetiana, – and now we are very happy because we really have nothing left.“

When the family arrived at the facility we built in Chernihiv with the support of our partners, they received everything they needed for adaptation: dishes, bedding, and hygiene kits. We believe that here the elderly residents of Kherson will once again have a sense of home comfort.
