An Emergency Response Team of the Chernihiv regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross is helping people affected by rising water levels in the region caused by snowmelt
The hydrological situation and transportation are currently being hampered in some areas. In particular, the water in the Snov River has risen by more than a meter, and the road connecting the villages of Velykyi and Malyi Dyrchyn in the Sedniv community has been overflowed.
10 adults and a two-year-old child were unable to get to the village of Velykyi Dyrchyn due to the flooding of the road, and food and basic necessities became unavailable to them.
Volunteers of the Emеrgency Response unit together with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine arrived at the scene. Using the Bogun swamp vehicle of the rescuers, they delivered humanitarian aid (food, hygiene kits, diapers for children) to the residents of Maly Dyrchin village.
