Ukrainian Red Cross participated in the “Right to Housing in Ukraine” forum

Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, took part in the forum, where he spoke about how the Ukrainian Red Cross is helping the state to recover and building modular settlements for IDPs and pregnant women.

These are some of the infrastructure projects implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross:

  • construction of the Unbroken Mothers facility, a part of the Unbroken ecosystem, in Lviv in 2022 to accommodate 100 mothers-to-be and women with babies.
  • construction of 7 comfortable two-story houses with 112 fully equipped apartments in Chernihiv.
  • realization of a project in cooperation with the Italian Red Cross to build 80 modern modular houses in the Kyiv region and 40 in the Zhytomyr region.

The construction of two more modular houses in the Zakarpattia region, which will host IDPs from Luhansk region, is planned for 2024. Besides, in the first quarter of 2024, we plan another project in the Sumy region – a shelter for people resettling from the 5-kilometer zone along the border with russia, which remains under constant shelling.
