A social helper of the Ukrainian Red Cross was awarded with the Florence Nightingale Medal
Larysa Kysil, a social helper of the Ukrainian Red Cross, was awarded in Dnipro with the Florence Nightingale Medal, the world’s most honorable award for nurses. This award recognizes the significant contribution of the courageous and compassionate Ms. Kysil in helping and supporting people affected by the war.
Larysa Fedorivna has been helping people in need for over 50 years. She started as a nurse in medical units, later – in the tuberculosis hospital in Toretsk. In 2007, she joined the Ukrainian Red Cross, becoming a social helper in the Home Care project. In addition to caring for single people, primarily the elderly, Larysa was actively involved in Ukrainian Red Cross tuberculosis projects.
When the full-scale invasion began, Larysa Fedorivna did not leave her native Toretsk but stayed beside her wards. Now she continues to work and support people in the city despite the danger, because the most important thing for her is to be with those who need her help.
The award ceremony took place in Dnipro with the participation of Lyubov Berezhna, head of the Donetsk regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross. For her courage, bravery and humanity, Ms. Larysa was awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal, the world’s most honorable award for nurses.
We congratulate our colleague on the award and thank Larysa for her dedication to helping those who need support the most in this difficult time. We wish her inspiration and development in her professional activities.
We want to remind you that more than 20 employees and volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross have already been awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal in Ukraine.
