Twenty-two psychologists from the mobile health and psychological units of the Ukrainian Red Cross received training in Psychological First Aid

From now on, residents of remote areas in the Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil regions will be able to receive emotional support from the Ukrainian Red Cross. Many individuals who have lost their homes due to the war, been forced to move to safer places because of shelling or faced separation from loved ones and other life challenges have found refuge here. In these circumstances, people may experience distress, a state in which they struggle to cope with stress on their own.

Psychological First Aid involves providing care, paying attention to a person’s reactions, listening, and offering emotional and practical support. Thanks to recent training in psychological first aid, the Ukrainian Red Cross’s mobile health and psychological units, which regularly visit towns and villages in these regions, will now be able to offer this support more effectively.

This training was conducted as part of the #EU4Health programme, with the support of the Danish Red Cross.
