A new ambulance has appeared in Cherkasy region thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Red Cross, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine and the Canadian Red Cross
The Ukrainian Red Cross donated an ambulance to support medicine in Cherkasy region, namely in Zolotonosha. This will make it possible to significantly relieve the burden on the primary health care system in the community and provide the necessary medical assistance to people more quickly.
The handover of the car took place during the visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine, Larisa Galadza, to Cherkasy, together with the General Director of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, Maksym Dotsenko, as well as representatives of the Canadian Red Cross Society, where they held a working meeting with the head of the regional military administration of Cherkasy Region, Major General Igor Taburets.
“We understand how important systemic and long-term support is for the affected Ukrainians, and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society is precisely the key that helps the country to recover. The purpose of my visit is to make Canadians understand what is happening in the middle of Ukraine, how strong and determined Ukrainians are and that they also need help,” said Larisa Galadza, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada.
In the regional military administration of Cherkasy region, Ihor Taburets added: “Cherkasy region has become a second home for more than hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. And I thank the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and the Canadian Red Cross for the assistance provided to the region. Our humanitarian headquarters at the regional state administration is increasing its working capacity every day. The region is ready to help more, and this is why we need to develop partnerships.”
During the meeting, the general director of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, Maksym Dotsenko, emphasized: “To overcome the humanitarian crisis, long-term cooperation between the public sector, international partners and the Red Cross movement, which operates in 192 countries of the world, is very important.
