The Ukrainian Red Cross assists people affected by attacks in the Cherkasy region
The team from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross is working at sites affected by the attacks in the city of Cherkasy and the village of Sloboda in Cherkasy district, where residential buildings have been damaged.
Volunteers and staff members are inspecting damaged homes, identifying residents’ immediate needs and providing the necessary humanitarian assistance. This includes construction materials for temporary repairs, such as OSB boards, tarpaulins, nails and expanding foam. These materials help people quickly cover damaged windows and repair damaged roofs, protecting their homes from adverse weather conditions.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, at least four residential buildings were damaged in the Russian attack on Cherkasy. Two people received the necessary medical assistance. In the village of Sloboda, a drone strike caused a fire in a residential building, which was extinguished by emergency responders together with the local fire brigade.
