Ukrainian Red Cross teams exchange experience in mental health and psychosocial support in Ternopil
From 14 to 16 October, regional mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) teams of the Ukrainian Red Cross gathered in Ternopil for an experience-sharing seminar.
The event brought together representatives from Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions.
Over the three days, participants:
- discussed approaches to supporting veterans, including the effects of stress and traumatic experiences and ways to communicate effectively;
- took part in a session on volunteer management;
- learned from a psychologist at the Ternopil regional branch who shared their experience of working with veterans;
- shared new practices introduced by their branches that they plan to further develop and implement throughout 2026.
These meetings give MHPSS teams an opportunity to share practical experience, learn from colleagues in other regions and identify new approaches that can be applied in their communities.
The seminar was held with the support of the Danish Red Cross.
