Practical training in physical and occupational therapy for specialists from mobile rehabilitation units

A three-day practical training course, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy for Patients with Neurological Conditions and Amputations, was held at the School of Medicine at UNBROKEN University with support from the Ukrainian Red Cross. The course was designed for specialists from mobile rehabilitation units.

From 9 to 11 October, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants strengthened their practical skills in three key areas:

  • Neurorehabilitation for patients recovering from strokes, traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries;
  • Pre- and post-prosthetic rehabilitation for people with limb amputations;
  • Modern occupational therapy to help patients with neurological conditions and visual impairments regain independence in everyday life.

The training was delivered by leading specialists:

  • Oleh Bilianskyi, Head of the UNBROKEN rehabilitation centre;
  • Anna Kovalyk, occupational therapist in the Physical Rehabilitation Department at St Panteleimon Hospital;
  • Andrii Novosad, physical therapist at the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Centre.

Together, we are working to develop a high-quality, accessible rehabilitation system in Ukraine.
