The Ukrainian Red Cross responds to the aftermath of an attack in Rivne

Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team are working alongside other emergency services at a damaged educational building in the city centre. They are searching the area and the building for anyone who may need assistance.

A Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point has been set up on site, where volunteers are providing drinking water, hot drinks and snacks. People can also receive psychological support there. Building materials are being distributed to temporarily cover damaged parts of the building.

According to preliminary information from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, falling debris from a Russian UAV caused a fire in one of the institution’s buildings, partially damaging the second floor. Initial reports indicate that 20 people have been affected. The fire has been extinguished, and emergency services are clearing debris and dousing the remaining structures with water. Response efforts are ongoing.
