More than 470 cultural sector professionals took part in the Ukrainian Red Cross online webinar “Introduction to Psychological First Aid (PFA)”

The event was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen support skills among professionals who work with people every day. Participants included staff from libraries, cultural institutions, and arts organisations from different regions of Ukraine.

During the webinar, participants learned about common reactions to crisis events, explored the three key principles of psychological first aid — “Look. Listen. Link.” — and were introduced to approaches to maintaining their own well-being and practical self-care techniques.

The training was delivered by specialists from the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support programme of the Ukrainian Red Cross. Participants discussed the key topics and worked through real-life examples, helping them better understand how to support people in crisis situations.

Cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine helps extend psychological first aid skills to professionals who work with people every day and may need to support them during difficult moments.
