Japanese Red Cross Society Representatives Visit Ivano-Frankivsk Region

A delegation from the Japanese Red Cross Society and representatives of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross paid a working visit to the Ivano-Frankivsk region to learn more about the implementation of the physical rehabilitation and social adaptation programme, as well as the results of their cooperation in the region.

During the visit, the delegation learned about the work of mobile rehabilitation units and how rehabilitation services are provided directly in local communities.

Specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile rehabilitation units shared their experience in organising and delivering rehabilitation services and spoke about the development of the rehabilitation system, including the challenges faced by rehabilitation professionals amid the full-scale war.

Particular attention was given to the rehabilitation space established at the Teplo Krylatoii Dushi Wellness Centre, where mobile rehabilitation units provide comprehensive support to veterans. The experience of the Centre demonstrates that, for many veterans, rehabilitation is not only about physical recovery and regaining mobility, but also an important step towards a new stage in life.

Cooperation with the Japanese Red Cross Society is an important part of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s humanitarian and rehabilitation programmes in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. With the support of its partners, the Ukrainian Red Cross is able to expand access to rehabilitation services and provide free assistance to people who, for various reasons, are unable to access the rehabilitation support they need in their local communities. This primarily includes people recovering from illnesses, injuries or wounds, as well as people affected by the impact of the war.
