In July and August, the Ukrainian Red Cross provided more than UAH 110 million in cash assistance to people in frontline regions

Throughout July and August 2026, the Ukrainian Red Cross continued to provide cash assistance to people affected by the war who needed urgent support.

The Unified Cash Transfers programme supports people affected by shelling, those forced to evacuate, and vulnerable people living in frontline communities who struggle to meet their basic needs.

The assistance allows people to decide for themselves how best to use the funds to meet their most urgent needs — including buying food and medicines, paying for housing and utilities, covering relocation costs, restoring essential household items, and meeting other necessary daily expenses.

During this period, 9,759 people received cash assistance, with total payments amounting to more than UAH 110 million.
The Unified Cash Transfers programme operates in the Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions.

The programme is implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross with support from the U.S., the Norwegian Red Cross, the Danish Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
