The Ukrainian Red Cross meets with a representative of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Today, the Ukrainian Red Cross team, led by President Maksym Dotsenko and Director General Illya Kletskovskyy, met with Joanneke Balfoort, a representative of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross presented the organisation’s work in response to the humanitarian consequences of the full-scale war and outlined its key areas of activity. These include first aid training and psychosocial support, the construction of modular housing sites for evacuees, the restoration of healthcare facilities, support for veterans, and vocational retraining for people affected by the war. The participants also discussed other areas of humanitarian assistance aimed at supporting people and communities.

Particular attention was paid to the work of Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams, including their response to the aftermath of Russian attacks and their cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine at the sites of attacks.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the Ukrainian Red Cross’s experience in responding to humanitarian needs and challenges, current priorities, and further opportunities for cooperation.

The Ukrainian Red Cross highly values the attention and support of its international partners and continues to strengthen its capacity to provide assistance to people and communities in the most challenging circumstances.
