Kharkiv: The Ukrainian Red Cross provided assistance to people affected by the latest attacks

Yesterday, following strikes on Kharkiv, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kharkiv region was working at the scene. Volunteers assessed the surrounding areas and damaged buildings and conducted door-to-door visits to identify people in need of assistance. First aid was provided to those affected, while people experiencing acute stress reactions received psychological first aid.

An assistance point was also set up at the site, where people could receive essential items and humanitarian assistance, including OSB boards, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, drinking water and other basic necessities.

According to the city mayor, Russian forces struck Kharkiv’s Slobidskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts on the evening of 9 September. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported a strike on the school grounds in the Slobidskyi district. The attack damaged windows at the educational facility and eight multi-storey residential buildings. Five people, including two children, were injured.
