Participants from seven regions of Ukraine exchanged experience in mental health and psychosocial support
A peer-learning seminar for Ukrainian Red Cross teams working in mental health and psychosocial support was held in Ternopil. The event brought together representatives of the Ternopil, Rivne, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regional branches, as well as the Kyiv city branch.
Over several days, participants shared practical experience of working with communities, discussed the challenges they face when providing support, and explored new ways to strengthen their programmes and services. The seminar covered a range of topics, including working with veterans, volunteer engagement and development, community engagement, and the integration of psychosocial support into the activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
An important part of the seminar was the participation of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s partners — representatives of the nationwide mental health programme How Are You? During the meeting, participants discussed stress, psychological trauma, communication with veterans, and ways to strengthen psychosocial support in communities.
The seminar provided an important platform for professional exchange, strengthening cooperation between regional teams, and exploring new approaches to supporting people facing challenging life circumstances.
