Business Development and Vocational Training: Reboot Programme Results Presented in Ternopil

Representatives of the Swiss Red Cross and the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross met with participants of the Reboot programme in Ternopil.

They visited two entrepreneurs who had received microgrant support to start and develop their own businesses.

One of the grant recipients, Ruslan, is originally from Mariupol. When he won the competition, he already had one family bakery in Ternopil. With the grant funding, he purchased a freezer and two portable power stations, helping his business continue operating during electricity disruptions.

Today, Ruslan runs four bakeries in Ternopil and has created 16 jobs.

Another programme participant, Bohdan, is a veteran with a disability. About a month ago, he and his wife opened their first food business in Ternopil.

He has now used the first grant instalment to purchase essential kitchen equipment. During the meeting, Bohdan spoke about his first steps as an entrepreneur and his plans to develop the business.

The delegation also visited the Ternopil Higher Vocational School of Services and Tourism, which has been cooperating with the Ukrainian Red Cross for more than two years.

During this time, 112 Reboot programme participants have completed training at the institution. They trained as hairdressers, nail technicians, and tailors. A floristry course is currently underway.

The Swiss Red Cross and Ukrainian Red Cross teams attended a training session and viewed the work of programme participants.
