The Ukrainian Red Cross joins international dialogue on the resilience of people, communities and societies in times of uncertainty

Kateryna Kryklia, Head of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support programme at the Ukrainian Red Cross, took part in the Sixth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, “World 2026: Finding Stability in Times of Uncertainty.”

The Summit brought together first ladies and gentlemen, Ukrainian and international experts, academics, representatives of government institutions, international and civil society organisations, and opinion leaders. Participants from different countries shared their experiences and discussed what helps people and societies remain resilient, adapt to crises, and continue moving forward.

Particular attention was paid to national experiences of resilience and practices shaped by historical events, crises, and major social changes. Ukraine’s experience was also part of this international dialogue.

For the Ukrainian Red Cross, participation in international professional forums provides an opportunity to exchange experience with representatives of different countries, learn about approaches to building resilience in different societies, and contribute to the joint search for solutions that help people and communities cope with crises and adapt to change.

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support programme of the Ukrainian Red Cross is an important part of this work. By supporting people and communities, developing relevant programmes, and applying evidence-based approaches, we work to strengthen their ability to cope with challenges and recover.

The Summit was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Coordination Centre for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme “How Are You?”, and the World Health Organization.
