The Ukrainian Red Cross responds to the aftermath of the overnight attack in Odesa

Since the early hours, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Odesa region has been working at sites affected by the large-scale attack on the city, in coordination with first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and emergency medical teams. Volunteers conducted assessments of the affected areas to identify people in need and provided essential assistance, including first aid and psychological support to people experiencing acute stress reactions.

The Ukrainian Red Cross, together with city volunteers, is distributing humanitarian assistance to meet the immediate needs of people affected, as well as construction materials to temporarily cover damaged areas of homes.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, eight people have reportedly been injured as a result of the Russian attack. The strikes caused extensive damage and fires in several areas of the city. In central Odesa, a fire broke out in a four-storey residential building, and nearby vehicles also caught fire. At another location, two private residential houses caught fire.
