Mykolaiv: Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers responded to the aftermath of an attack
During the night, Mykolaiv once again came under attack, with a residential area hit. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), an 89-year-old woman was killed and seven people were injured, including two girls aged 2 and 12.
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team worked at the scene alongside other emergency services. Volunteers checked the affected area and damaged residential buildings, provided first aid to those injured, and transported the body of the deceased.
They also helped four residents of damaged homes reach a shelter, provided psychological first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions, and delivered drinking water to SESU responders.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the attack also destroyed and damaged private houses, as well as a car and the windows of apartment buildings.
