The Poltava regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross delivers the Physical Rehabilitation and Social Adaptation programme

Restoring movement, rebuilding confidence and helping people become more independent are the main goals of the Physical Rehabilitation and Social Adaptation programme implemented by the Poltava regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

Here are the results achieved by our mobile rehabilitation units during the first six months of 2026:

  • 72 people received personalised physical rehabilitation services tailored to their individual needs and health conditions.
  • 182 assistive devices — including wheelchairs, walking frames and other rehabilitation equipment — were selected, fitted and provided by our specialists.
  • 52 caregivers learned safe transfer techniques and best practices for caring for their loved ones.
  • 1,433 participants took part in practical training sessions and information sessions focused on health, safety and active living.

More than 50 requests for support were addressed by our specialists, helping people overcome everyday barriers and better integrate into their communities.

Behind every number is a person, their daily efforts, small victories and important steps towards greater independence.

We remain committed to supporting people who need professional rehabilitation and social reintegration services on their journey towards recovery and greater independence.
