Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers strengthen water rescue skills

The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Ivano-Frankivsk region took part in the Water Rescue 2026 training course, designed to strengthen preparedness for water-related emergencies.

Throughout the training, volunteers enhanced their practical first aid skills, practised cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), water rescue techniques, the use of water rescue equipment, and effective teamwork during rescue operations.

A key part of the course was a 22-kilometre kayak expedition, during which participants practised team coordination, boat handling, navigation, and coordinated decision-making in field conditions.

Continuous training and the ongoing development of practical skills help Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response volunteers remain ready to respond effectively during emergencies and provide timely assistance to those who need it most.
