Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers respond at the site of a Russian attack in central Sumy
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Sumy region promptly arrived at the site of the strike in central Sumy and, together with first responders and other emergency services, is providing assistance to those affected. Volunteers are providing first aid, handing over injured people to ambulance teams, and offering psychological first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions following the attack.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, five people, including a child, were killed as a result of the strike involving three guided aerial bombs on civilian infrastructure in Sumy, while another 17 people were injured. Residential buildings, public transport and civilian vehicles were damaged. A total of 140 people, including 20 children, were evacuated from the building affected by the attack.
