The Ukrainian Red Cross has provided nearly UAH 50 million in assistance to evacuated residents of the Kharkiv region
The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to support people affected by the war. In the Kharkiv region, through a priority-based cash assistance programme implemented with U.S. support, financial assistance has been provided to evacuated individuals and households whose homes were damaged or destroyed as a result of shelling or other attacks.
The project in the region is implemented by the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross. In April–June 2026, support was provided to residents of the Slobidskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Osnovianskyi and Novobavarskyi districts of Kharkiv, as well as the Shevchenkove and Kurylivka communities of the Kupiansk district. Particular attention was given to evacuated people and those affected by shelling or other attacks who were no longer able to meet their basic needs independently.
Over the course of the project, more than 2,500 households, covering over 4,000 beneficiaries, received cash assistance. Each beneficiary received a payment of UAH 12,300. The total amount of assistance provided is nearly UAH 50 million.
The support provided helps people meet their most essential needs during a difficult period and contributes to addressing the consequences of the humanitarian crisis.
The Ukrainian Red Cross will continue to work with partners to provide timely support to those who need it most.
