Odesa hosted a national training on Safeguarding, PGI in Rehabilitation, and PMER Fundamentals for Ukrainian Red Cross staff

From 23 to 25 June, specialists from the Physical Rehabilitation and Social Adaptation Unit representing 13 regions of Ukraine took part in three days of intensive training. Participants engaged in interactive learning sessions, group work, and cross-regional exchange of experience.

During the training, participants explored:

  • implementing safeguarding policies in mobile rehabilitation services;
  • integrating Protection, Gender and Inclusion (PGI) approaches into the delivery of rehabilitation services;
  • the fundamentals of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) to strengthen the effectiveness of mobile rehabilitation units.

The primary objective of the training was to strengthen the capacities of rehabilitation specialists, improve the quality of services, and ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and accountability when working with people in vulnerable situations.

Together, we continue to strengthen our rehabilitation services to ensure that the support we provide is not only professional, but also safe, inclusive and accessible to everyone who needs it.
