Team Building, Legal Protection and Practical Advice: Highlights from June Webinars for Women Entrepreneurs
In June, the Ukrainian Red Cross, together with the UMIND NGO, held a series of educational webinars for women entrepreneurs as part of the Supporting Women’s Economic Empowerment in Ukraine programme.
More than 400 participants from different regions of Ukraine joined the events.
The June series began with open business consultations and discussions of practical case studies. Entrepreneur and business networking expert Maksym Vdovchenko addressed participants’ real-life challenges and shared strategies for networking and business scaling.
Intellectual property protection was the focus of the webinar “Trademark for Business: Who Needs to Register One and Why?” Lawyer Nazar Kostenko explained how registering a trademark helps protect businesses from copying, supports expansion through franchising, and allows businesses to sell products safely on online platforms.
Team building was discussed during the session “Building a Team for Your Business: How to Find the Right People and Create an Effective Team”. Recruitment experts Yelyzaveta Baliura and Elia Okunska shared practical approaches to conducting interviews and explained why soft skills are often more important than purely technical expertise.
The final event of June was a panel discussion featuring entrepreneurs who successfully secured funding from the Ukrainian Red Cross. Iryna Lova, Yaroslava Polikarpova, Olha Yeshchenko and Maksym Stukalo shared their experiences in an open discussion — from launching their projects to managing grant funding — and spoke about real challenges and practical ways to address them.
The June webinars helped participants better understand the legal aspects of running a business, improve their hiring practices, and gain valuable motivation from experienced practitioners.
*The events are held as part of the Supporting Women’s Economic Empowerment in Ukraine programme, implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross, with the support of NACHBAR IN NOT and the Austrian Development Agency, and with organisational and technical support from the UMIND NGO.
