“A Day for Children” Interactive Event Held in Zhytomyr
The Ukrainian Red Cross co-organised the “A Day for Children” event in Zhytomyr. The aim of the initiative was to create a safe and welcoming space for children, provide meaningful leisure activities, support creativity, and promote emotional well-being and social interaction.
Participants took part in creative workshops, games, competitions, and interactive sessions on “How not to get lost”, which gave children many positive emotions, new knowledge, and memorable experiences.
A tracing service specialist from the Ukrainian Red Cross in Zhytomyr delivered information sessions, explaining in an accessible and engaging way how to stay safe, what to do if contact with parents or relatives is lost, and how to seek help.
At the end of the event, children received colouring sheets on “How not to get lost”, helping them reinforce what they had learned through play and creativity. Such initiatives raise children’s awareness of personal safety and help prevent situations where contact with loved ones may be lost.
