More than 2,000 gas masks provided by the Ukrainian Red Cross to social care facilities in Rivne region

An official handover of 460 gas masks to social care facilities in the Rivne region took place in Rivne. In total, the Ukrainian Red Cross has provided 2,230 respiratory protective devices to the region. The equipment is intended to strengthen the preparedness of social service institutions for potential emergencies and enhance the safety of people under their care.

The handover was carried out as part of a humanitarian initiative of the Ukrainian Red Cross with the support of the German Red Cross. Overall, respiratory protective devices will be provided to social care facilities in the Volyn, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Rivne regions. The distribution of gas masks among institutions is coordinated by regional military administrations based on the needs of individual regions and facilities.

Staff training is also an important component of this initiative. Specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine provide expert and methodological support to the project and conduct practical training sessions on the proper use and storage of gas masks.

The initiative aims to enhance the preparedness of social care facilities to respond to potential radiological, chemical, and other technological hazards, while also promoting a culture of safety and emergency preparedness within communities.

Together, we are strengthening the safety and resilience of communities across Ukraine.
