In Mykolaiv, Active Longevity Clubs joined the Ukrainian Red Cross festival

The Ukrainian Red Cross festival, which brought together more than 200 participants from various communities across the region, took place on 7 May in Mykolaiv. The event served as a space for support, unity, active lifestyles, and the promotion of humanitarian values.

Volunteers, staff, partners of the organisation, and residents of Mykolaiv, Bashtanka, Novyi Buh, Snihurivka, Radsnyi Sad, Pivdennoukrainsk, and Voznesensk took part in the event, along with participants from the Ukrainian Red Cross Active Longevity Clubs.

Honoured guests included representatives of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, the healthcare sector, the veteran community, and the Ukrainian Red Cross. In their speeches, they emphasised the important role of humanitarian work and support for people in today’s challenging circumstances.

The festival programme included:

  • a Nordic walking marathon;
  • chess and draughts tournaments;
  • volleyball;
  • various sporting activities;
  • an exhibition of creative works.

The festival once again demonstrated that the Ukrainian Red Cross is not only about emergency response, but also about community development, promoting active ageing, volunteering, and humanity.

We thank everyone who took part in this day and helped create an atmosphere of support, kindness, and mutual respect.
