The Ukrainian Red Cross conducted mine risk awareness training for communities in the Zaporizhzhia region as part of the SYLA project

Within the framework of the SYLA project, two mine risk awareness information sessions were held for representatives of local authorities and volunteer fire brigades from the Shyroke, Mykhailivka, Novooleksandrivka, and Kushuhum communities.

The sessions were organised by the Zaporizhzhia regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross to raise awareness among professionals of the risks posed by explosive ordnance in high-risk environments.

During the sessions, participants gained essential knowledge on identifying explosive remnants of war, safe behaviour practices, and response procedures in the event of encountering hazardous objects. The skills acquired will significantly enhance the safety of both emergency response specialists during operations and local residents.

The SYLA project aims to strengthen local emergency response mechanisms. It is implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the Danish Red Cross, the German Red Cross, ACTED and IMPACT, with financial support from the European Union.

We thank our partners for their cooperation and joint efforts to strengthen the resilience and safety of communities in frontline regions.егіонах.
