An information session on rabies prevention was held in the Dnipro region
In the library of Topchyne village, representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross Health Promotion and Disease Prevention programme held an information session on rabies prevention and safe interaction with animals.
During the session, “Rabies: how to reduce the risk and rules for interacting with animals”, participants were explained in accessible terms what rabies is, how it is transmitted, and its symptoms. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of timely vaccination of domestic animals, avoiding contact with stray and wild animals, and seeking immediate medical care in the event of a bite or suspected exposure.
The session also focused on building safe behaviour skills and promoting responsible attitudes towards personal health and the safety of others.
The project at the Dnipro regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross is implemented with support from the Norwegian Red Cross.
