The Ukrainian Red Cross took part in command and staff exercises in Kyiv

The emergency response team of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross, together with emergency responders, law enforcement, medical teams, municipal services, and representatives of the authorities, participated in large-scale command-and-staff exercises of civil protection forces and management bodies in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv.

During the exercise, participants practised response procedures for flooding scenarios, including ice drift and high water. This included evacuating residents, providing assistance to affected people, providing essential services, and coordinating among different agencies. To evacuate residents from flooded areas, emergency response team volunteers used a tracked all-terrain vehicle.

Such training helps strengthen coordination and preparedness, enabling services to respond quickly and in a unified manner during real emergencies, and to provide effective assistance to people.
