Enhancing Knowledge on Mine Risk through the Handicap International – Humanity & Inclusion Programme
Mine risk specialists of the Ukrainian Red Cross operate across 24 regions of Ukraine, ensuring that everyone knows simple but critically important rules for staying safe when encountering explosive devices.
The impact speaks for itself:
During the first quarter of 2026, 78,777 people were reached. And these numbers mean more than statistics: every 100 people reached potentially equals one life saved.
To provide the most up-to-date and accurate information, the Ukrainian Red Cross team regularly undertakes professional training. Last week, specialists completed a course led by a certified demining operator in Ukraine, Handicap International – Humanity & Inclusion.
During the training, participants:
- Updated their knowledge on current threats;
- Practised safe-behaviour procedures;
- Refined methods for educating different audiences;
- Analysed real-life case studies from practice.
We thank the team at Handicap International – Humanity & Inclusion for delivering this training. We continue to strengthen our capacities — for the safety of every person.
