In Vyzhnytsia, Chernivtsi region, a meeting was held with more than 90 families of missing persons, organised with the participation of the Ukrainian Red Cross

The purpose of the meeting was to provide information and legal support, guidance, and practical assistance to those searching for their loved ones.

The event was initiated by the regional working group of the Coordination Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War. It took place at the Vyzhnytsia District Military Administration and brought together 92 families from the Vyzhnytsia, Seliatyn, Koniatyn, Ust-Putyla, Brusnytsia, Berehomet, Putyla, Vashkivtsi, and Banyliv territorial communities.

A specialist in Restoring Family Links from the Chernivtsi regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross spoke about the support available to families.

Representatives from government and relevant agencies also took part, including the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Pension Fund, the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre, and the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration.

During an open dialogue, participants discussed:

  • the search process and information exchange;
  • cooperation with law enforcement agencies;
  • social guarantees, benefits, and assistance;
  • protection against fraud.

The meeting was an important step in supporting families, providing answers to questions and guidance on where to seek further help.
