Throughout March, the Ukrainian Red Cross Physical Rehabilitation and Social Adaptation team actively worked in communities across Dnipro region

As part of this work, they established a partnership with Kamianske Medical College and trained future specialists who will contribute to transforming Ukraine’s rehabilitation system.

Students from a range of disciplines took part in training sessions on “Assistive Rehabilitation Devices.” These sessions went beyond theoretical learning, providing practical skills that could help people live more independently from the very next day.

Participants were able to:

  • Learn about modern assistive devices that enhance mobility;
  • Understand how to select devices appropriately according to individual needs;
  • Master the basic principles of adjustment;
  • Practise safe and effective usage.

Future healthcare professionals engaged actively in the sessions, asked questions, practised their skills, and shared their reflections. Most importantly, they expressed sincere gratitude for knowledge that has a real, tangible impact.

These Ukrainian Red Cross training sessions are a key step towards developing high-quality rehabilitation services and fostering a professional community dedicated to promoting dignity and independence for every person.
