The Ukrainian Red Cross participated in a working meeting on coordinating actions during emergencies
Representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross took part in a working meeting dedicated to improving cooperation between civil society and charitable organisations and government authorities during response to the consequences of attacks. The discussion also involved representatives of non-governmental and charitable organisations, heads and deputy heads of district administrations, as well as representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the Patrol Police of Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration and the Kyiv City Military Administration.
During the meeting, participants focused on the challenges that arose while responding to emergencies and discussed ways to improve coordination and increase the effectiveness of joint efforts.
Particular attention was given to analysing practical experience of cooperation — both successful examples of coordination and situations that require improvement. The proposals developed during the meeting will serve as a basis for further management decisions aimed at strengthening coordination and ensuring a more rapid response during emergencies.
It should be noted that in this process the Ukrainian Red Cross acts as a coordinator of spontaneous volunteers — people who are ready to assist at the sites where the consequences of attacks are being addressed, usually on a one-off basis. In addition, the organisation coordinates its activities with other humanitarian and charitable organisations and aligns actions on the ground, enabling timely information sharing and optimising the allocation of resources during emergency response efforts.
